Mystic Serpent

from Pale Mythos by Dawn of Existence

"Its about the end of the first age of civilization long ago. In this universe, women alone could foresee the doom of humanity and some became occultists, performed rituals and magic to try to preserve the old world. Depending on how you look at it, perhaps they succeeded in some regards." - Votan

The culling of the flesh
Through mystic serpent rites
At the twilight of an age
Dark vixens
Spill the blood of man

Black wax on writhing bodies
Under the tower in the moon
On the trilithon of Set
To stop the sands of… time

(Chorus 2)
The chalice nearly full
Last drop to stem the tide
and with curved blade in hand
she carves the sigil of the snake
and kneels one last time
